VOIP Going Cordless

There can be a major hitch to VOIP service. With many of the Voice over Internet Protocol phones available on the market, a caller is physically connected to the computer.
In this society that always needs to be on the go, cords are something that must be avoided at all costs – even if it means paying higher for a land based or cellular phone service instead of VOIP. Consumers are demanding that the cords be cut.
Logitech, a Swiss based company that specializes in products for the computer, is determined to meet the demands of those consumers. It is set to launch two new VOIP phones that also take advantage of a USB speakerphone and a cordless Internet handset.
The Quickcall USB Speakerphone has a two-microphone set up. This allows the phone to pick up voices in more areas around the room, but at the same time it also decreases or eliminates echoes. Since it is connected via a USB port, there is no need for an additional power source. That is one more cord with which the consumer will not be bothered.
The handset looks and feels like an ordinary cordless phone. It has a range from the base of about 150 feet. The new handset is Skype certified and supports all the key Skype calling features.
The life of the VOIP subscriber just got a little freer.
