Tennis championship uses VoIP
by Jan Harris
June 12, 2007
VoIP has been introduced at the Stella Artois Tennis Championship at the Queen’s Club in London, which is taking place this week.
Max WiFi has supplied the championship with WiFi services for the past five years, but 2007 is the first time that VoIP communications have been utilised.
The company upgraded Internet connections and the network, with 60 phones made available for officials, security, tournament directors and members of the media.
Max WiFi chose solutions provided by Voicenet, taking advantage of the easy to install plug-and-play units. The company also expanded its WiFi network to cover all the venue.
The improvements have allowed photographers to send photos directly to their agencies from centre court.
