Cruise to integrate VoIP with Microsoft Exchange
by Jan Harris
July 20, 2007
Cruise GmbH is planning the seamless integration of its Asterisk-based VoIP system with Microsoft Exchange 2007.
The Cruisephone merges a conventional phone line with Internet telephony to create a single platform.
The Cruisephone box supports over 40 VoIP accounts and provides full telephony functions such as conference calling, call waiting and customized day/night settings.
The integration with Exchange will allow Cruisephone users to choose contacts directly from their Outlook address book, easily receive voicemail messages or have emails read aloud on their mobile phone.
Users will also be able to have Exchange-planned events announced on their mobile phone, and postpone or cancel appointments.
The system will also allow remote workers to log onto their system through any telephone in order to work on emails without the need for a PDA or laptop.
Cruise expects the integration to be completed in 3 to 4 months time.
Cruise GmbH is a joint venture between Berlin-based Junghanns.NET GmbH and Kiel-based IP software company ADDIX GmbH.
