WiFiMobile provides international GSM calls at local rates

Mobile VoIP provider, WiFiMobile, has improved its international calling service for users in the US and UK.

The company has addressed the issue that free VoIP calls on a Nokia device can only be made when the user is in range of a Wi-Fi access point, or through an unlimited data plan.

WiFiMobile’s customers in the US and UK can now call through normal GSM to landlines in 40 countries, at local rates.

International (local calls) can be made anywhere where normal GSM coverage is available. There is no requirement for WLAN access or an unlimited 3G data plan.

WiFiMobile plans to extend the service to other countries, after rolling it out in the US and UK.

Free VoIP calls to landlines in over 40 countries continue to be available for users of Nokia E and N series smartphones over Wi-Fi or 3G.

The monthly cost will remain at £7.99 and a 14 day trial of the service is available at www.wifimobile.com .

WiFiMobile’s VoIP client, oneFone, provides free long distance calls and converts select Nokia devices into extensions of corporate IP IBX systems.
