EMC, a developer and provider of information infrastructure technology, and application delivery company NetQoS, have released new software to improve the management and performance of IP telephony systems.
EMC has released Smarts VoIP Performance Manager and Smarts VoIP Performance Reporter.
The products cater for global enterprises or managed service providers which wish to replace legacy PBXs.
Performance Manager provides real-time data to help solve short-term problems, while Performance Reporter analyses the data to help with longer-term planning on issues such as capacity and traffic flow.
The packages provide data on voice quality, service availability, call volumes and route patterns, helping companies monitor and enforce service level agreements. They are available now, priced at between £13 and £18 per phone, depending on volume, plus an annual maintenance fee.
NetQoS has released VoIP Monitor, a Cisco-focused system tailored for large enterprises.
The software performs passive, centralised monitoring of CUCM environments. It measures IP device response times to see if VoIP traffic is affecting speed, and also monitors voice quality.
