Skype launches package for British SMEs

VoIP provider Skype has launched a Small Business Pack designed to help British SMEs benefit from low-cost internet telephony.

According to Skype’s own research, 95 per cent of business users surveyed saved money by moving over to VoIP technology from traditional phone systems. The survey also found that VoIP can help to improve workers’ productivity.

Skype’s new Small Business Package contains everything a small business needs to start using VoIP.

It includes the Skype for Business control panel which allows a company to assign calling credits to up to ten staff members, and to monitor their VoIP activity.

The package offers ten five-month subscriptions to Skype Pro at €2 per month plus VAT. Skype Pro provides cheap international calls from mobile phones. It also features a call transfer facility and voicemail.

The small business package includes €50 of Skype credits for making international calls to landlines and mobiles. There is no charge for calls to other Skype users.
