Vyke upgrades Vyke Pro software

Vyke has upgraded its Vyke Pro software, to allow mobile phone users with limited-access mobile internet service to send and receive free text messages.
Vyke Pro is downloadable software that will run with all recent Java enabled handsets.
The aim is to undercut current text messaging services, as Vyke Pro users can send text messages for free between themselves, or send normal text messages to non-Vyke users for as little as 1p per message.
In order to allow for “always on” connectivity, Vyke has incorporated technology that allows Vyke to remotely start a user’s Vyke Pro software, and deliver an incoming message to it from another Vyke Pro user.
The upgrade is the first in a series planned for Vyke Pro, with a second coming over the coming month to allow Microsoft powered handsets to provide full mobile VoIP functionality on Wi-fi enabled handsets, even where their VoIP capabilities are either restricted or previously restricted.
