Phoenix Audio Technologies, a US-based innovator of audio communication solutions, has launched the Quatro Speakerphone, which operates as an add-on device to existing telephones.
The device utilises features like dialing and memory storing, while taking over the audio portion of the communication and replacing it with its processed and improved audio stream.
In addition to the core speakerphone unit, there are a number of plug-in interface modules that complement the Quatro. The basic unit comes with a USB interface, connector for optional external speakers and an extension plug for daisy chain or external input connection. As such, the basic Quatro is a complete conferencing solution for VoIP applications.
Amongst the plug-in interface modules that complement the Quatro are POTS interface (single line and two lines), SIP interface, proprietary PBX interfaces, video conferencing systems interface, and other features.
The modules are designed for three-way communication so the user can conference a telephone call through this particular module with a VoIP call. Most of the modules are available with battery operation. The plug-in modules are housed within the Quatro’s body and are easily replaceable.
The Quatro is seen as a solution for medium and large conference rooms. It is flexible and independent on the communication infrastructure, making it ideal for installed-base settings.
