Copenhagen-based Speakanet AS, has raised $10 million in new venture capital funding to support growth in Denmark, and the international roll out of its technology, including in the UK and Switzerland.

Speakanet provides software which replaces analogue and VoIP telephone systems with a 100% mobile, hardware-free, self-provisioned and web-enabled solution for enterprises.

Employees use a standard GSM mobile phone, while the company receptionist uses the Speakanet software switchboard.

The system is designed for ease of use. It can be provisioned and activated in minutes, and no training in its use is required.

It eliminates the need for companies to purchase, install, manage, upgrade and support their own telecoms infrastructure in the office, providing significant cost savings.

Speakanet already has over 15,000 business users in its home market of Denmark. As well as its headquarters in Copenhagen, it has offices in London and Prague.

Speakanet’s investors include Northzone Ventures, Via Venture Partners and Eqvitec Partners.
