Introduction of V-Portal from Vonage

Vonage, a leading provider of digital phone services, introduced 'MyVonage' on 7 January 2008 at CES in Las Vegas. ‘MyVonage’ is an initiative to promote devices, services, and features that allow the customer to choose how he uses the service.
The first of these devices and services to be launched is the V-Portal, a digital voice adapter and router with an LCD display, and Contact Book, a software platform that would allow customers to better manage their service.
Using customer research and feedback, Vonage has created a device that assists with installation, helps with basic troubleshooting, and has easy-to-use features. The LCD screen can also be used for Caller ID, timing calls, call logging, easy access to Vonage service numbers, and for displaying the date and time.
Later is 2008, Vonage will also introduce the first iteration of Vonage Contact Book, which is a one-stop communication centre that will provide customers with the ability to integrate all contacts from their home, desktop and mobile address books while providing requested features such as Group Calling, Voice Activated Dialling, Speed Dial, and Call Blast.
Vonage anticipates that future versions of this product can also be used from any non-Vonage phone the customer has, so some Vonage features can be used from anywhere the customer wants to communicate. Current customers can try out the Alpha version of Vonage Contact Book through http://alpha.vonage.com/.
