Lush upgrades communications with VoIP

January 11, 2008
Lush, the cosmetics manufacturer and retailer, is adopting VoIP in order to improve links between stores.
The company doubled its online sales in December, and is now planning to add extra functionality to its IT system, in order to improve communications between its head office and store network.
The company plans to use VoIP technology to reduce the cost of internal calls, with the system expected to be fully operational by the last quarter of 2008, while an upgraded internal messaging service will be re-launched in summer 2008.
The latest upgrade follows the company’s recent adoption of internet credit control processing, providing Payment Card Industry compliance.
This improves the security of customer data for credit card payments, both online and in store.
It also increases the data transfer rate, helping to reduce checkout queues and boost sales.
