Covergence announces virtual SBC for enterprise

Covergence has announced a session border controller (SBC) which is available as a virtual appliance. It is based on the VMware hypervisor and can run on any x86 infrastructure. The Covergence Virtual Appliance 50 (CVA-50) is a pre-configured, ready-to-run enterprise SBC integrated with an operating system inside a virtual machine.
While convergence is one of the main benefits of adopting VoIP, it has been difficult for enterprises to integrate their voice and data networks.
The Covergence Session Manager secures, controls and integrates real-time traffic onto the WAN. This provides enterprises with the necessary infrastructure to move to Unified Communications. The new CVA-50 allows organisations to easily and cost-effectively integrate their branch offices.
The solution provides significant cost-savings in long distance, local and intra-company calls and audio conferencing, compared with hardware solutions such as an IP PBX.
The Covergence Virtual Appliance 50 (CVA-50) costs around $5,000 and is available now.
