MTNL cuts international call rates to 100 countries

The state-run telecom major in India, MTNL, has cut its international call rates to Re 1 per minute for its VoIP customers. The new rates apply to calls to 100 countries including Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Japan, Malaysia and Kuwait.
The company has already cut call rates to the United States, the UK, Canada, Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong to Re 1 per minute. Ten rupees are worth approximately 13 pence.
For countries to which the calling rates were Rs 6, Rs 8 and Rs 12 respectively, the new rates are Rs 4, Rs 6 and Rs 8 per minute respectively.
MTNL provides international calling facility through VoIP to its broadband customers in association with Aksh Optifibre.
