Fring updates VoIP service with mobile file transfers

Fring, a mobile internet service and community, has added mobile file transfers to its free VoIP applications.
The upgraded version also features improved chat functionality and more language options, including English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Russian and Chinese.
The new version allows files to be transferred instantly from mobile to mobile or mobile to PC or Mac, without incurring any extra charge. The cost is paid through the handset’s mobile internet capability using the already paid for data plan.
Fring brings together contacts from MSN Messenger, Skype, ICQ, AIM and Google Talk into one list and allows users to talk, chat and interact with their contacts. Users can immediately see if their contacts are available.
The company plans to release versions for the Apple iPhone and handsets powered by Google’s forthcoming Android mobile operating system, later in 2008.
Fring is compatible with Nokia phones running Symbian Series 60, a Sony Ericsson handset using UIQ, or a Windows Mobile 5 or 6 device, and can be downloaded from the company’s website.
