Industry expert Colin Duffy, a council member for The Internet Telephony Services Providers’ Association and chief executive officer of Voipfone.co.uk, is encouraging small and medium-sized businesses to adopt VoIP.
According to Duffy, VoIP allows SMEs to afford advanced features such as telephone extensions, music on hold, and call transfer; all features which present a professional image for the company.
However, Duffy also highlights that many SMEs do know have sufficient knowledge or expertise to switch from traditional to VoIP telephony.
According to research carried out be Ofcom in 2006, around 60 per cent of UK adults are aware of VoIP services.
The Internet Telephony Services Providers’ Association (ITSPA), is the trade association for UK-based network operators, service providers and related businesses.
