Carphone Warehouse Networks now has one million UK users on its next generation network infrastructure, which is supported by the Sonus IP-based platform. This milestone was achieved in just 27 months.
Sonus Networks, a leading IP-voice infrastructure company, expects to carry 3.5 million UK Broadband users by 2010. Carphone Warehouse Networks’ IP-based voice network supports the wider group’s TalkTalk free broadband offer, and growing demand for its communication services.
Technology from Sonus Networks is supporting substantial growth in The Carphone Warehouse Networks residential voice business, while allowing the company to deliver the high-quality of service expected by its customers.
The Sonus platform is designed to allow service providers to quickly and easily replace legacy networks with a more efficient, scalable and IP-based solution.
While legacy networks need localised points of presence across the UK, The Carphone Warehouse Networks can host network switches in just three locations, and can reach over 70%. The system is also easily scaleable to cope with future expansion.
Sonus technology deployed by Carphone Warehouse Networks includes the ASX Access Server, GSX9000, PSX Call Routing Server, SGX Signaling Gateway, and the Sonus Insight Management System.
