Vyke announces 226% increase in customers

VoIP company, Vyke Communications Plc London, recorded a 34% increase in paid Vyke IP based customer accounts to 1,742,508 in Q1 2008, from 1,302,828 at the end of Q4 2007 - an increase of 226% compared with Q1 2007.

During Q1, the number of weekly call minutes increased from 4.15m to 8.5m, and the total number of calls placed with Vyke products was 28.9 million, compared with 18.6 million during Q4 2007.

This represents a 129% increase in calls compared with Q1 2007.

During Q1 2008, Vyke acquired Callserve Communications Ltd, strengthening its wholesale VoIP network infrastructure and also adding domestic operational resources.

Iios Limited was also acquired, providing additional capacity for continued growth.

Another highlight during the quarter was a partnership with Nokia, providing Mobile VoIP service users with access to Nokia’s on-device ‘Download’ store.

The service is available on new Nokia handsets for customers in the United Kingdom, Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
