3CX, a developer of telecommunications software, has released version 6.0 of 3CX Phone System for Windows, a software-based VoIP PBX which replaces traditional proprietary hardware PBX / PABX.

Version 6.0, which has 10 new features, comes only 20 weeks after its predecessor, a time-scale not previously possible with traditional PBX systems.

The new features include call conferencing for up to 32 participants, paging, support for Windows 2008, and intercom capability.

Nick Galea, CEO at 3CX said: “With our new Windows 2008 support, organizations can virtualize the PBX and run a phone system without the need for an appliance or an extra server.

This means lower administration costs, no extra hardware and less energy consumption.”

The 3CX Phone System is designed with ease of installation in mind, and it is also simple to configure, manage and use.

It is available in four editions: Small Business, Pro, Enterprise and Free 3CX, all of which support an unlimited number of extensions.

3CX has its headquarters in Europe with offices in the UK, USA, Germany, Cyprus, Malta and Hong Kong.

A list of UK distributors and resellers is available on the company’s website - www.3cx.com .
