EMCC Software, the mobile software specialist, has extended its range of business mobile integration products, with the introduction of a VoIP engine for S60 devices.

EMCC’s products enable the easy deployment and use of mobile PBX integration software.

The company has developed a cross-platform VoIP engine, which can be installed on S60, Windows Mobile and other platforms which do not have built-in VoIP.

The VoIP engine can deployed “Over the Air” (OTA) to compatible handsets, and does not require any in-built handset capabilities.

This overcomes a hurdle for enterprises whose workforce uses handsets without integrated VoIP technology, but who wish to create VoIP applications or provide VoIP services.

With the S60 platform accounting for around 50% of the smartphone market, there is likely to be significant interest in EMMC’s new technology.
