Vopium enters Android market

VoIP application Vopium, which enables mobile users to save up to 90% when making international calls, is now available for Android handsets.

The company also recently launched the application on the iPhone App Store and BlackBerry App World, as part of its ongoing strategy to offer the service to mobile users worldwide.

The application can be downloaded for free from the company’s website, and will then seamlessly integrate with the handset’s address book.

It recognises international numbers and automatically re-routes calls via the Vopium gateway, to take advantage of the cheapest method available.

The service, which is compatible with over 500 handsets, uses 3G, GSM, WiFi and GPRS networks.
